selbst schadenfreude

i had a good laugh at myself today - we came home from the roadtrip and were greeted by a friend walking porter in shels backyard - as callie drove away she mentioned: oh btw he chewed a few things in the mudroom

it was a disaster zone - wood splinters, bits of shoes, clothing, everything in sight had been chewed to a pulp - one pair of fine shoes on the cupboard (callie must have put them up) made me laugh - without thinking i was overcome with schaden freude (taking glee in the misfortune of others) - schadenfreude for robert i assumed

then i noticed they were my shoes - destroyed - and did i ever laugh
