being trusted

(A)only a few of us at work and a good feeling to be the one who is trusted to carry on so the others can take a well-needed break. i was spreading the word and happy to be sharing the news, encouraging others to join, to come out and take part, to feel like they too belonged

(B)teaching a boy who wanted not to suffer the shame of a lesson, who wanted to ski with his family and be thought of as capable and able and equal; showing him the best possible time i could, we started out trying 180s on the snow then heading up to ski the hill doing 180s all the way, then i took him on a tour of the south side, through woods trails, off secret jumps, showed him the wild side of skiing - and then to hear him babble to his father: Dad i want to show you the trails i just came down, you arent going to believe what im going to show you

(C)listening carefully to ron, a font of ancient skihill gossip and geneaology as he fills in gaps most of us nver knew existed, and then later watching him pull off the funniest yet completelynon-offensive stunt of the evening - a lot to admire and emulate there

(D)so much food at D&K's - yummy food - i ate a week's worth, guiltlessly

(E)the wildest craziest party i have been to in a long time and i stayed relatively (which aint saying much) sober - so much laughter and hilarity and positive vibe - a great thing for the various departments to pull a little closer

(F) a warm comfy couch to curl up on
